What I Did: I wanted to make some ornament shaped cake balls for a holiday party at work. I saw this pin on pinterest and thought “you know what I can do that, it looks so easy!” I bought all the stuff, baked the cake, made the balls and then came the chocolate dipping. Welp turns out the balls were not as round as I thought and the chocolate did NOT go on evenly! In fact I lost many balls in the chocolate, they didn’t stay on the stick during the dipping process. Needless to say, I abandoned the rest of the project, figuring if I can’t dip a cake ball correctly, there’s no way I’m stringing a twizzler pull n peel into a reese’s.

My Result:

Next Time I Will:  Not doing it again, I think I’ll just buy cake balls from a store next time!

Never actually tried it but heard from “bakers” that you need to dip the sticks in chocolate, then put them in the cake balls, then freeze them so the chocolate holds the two together. Apparently then you will be able to dip them.

It doesn’t look like she tried very hard
I know they are difficult, but if you google them you can find step by step instructions

I actually did follow directions and put them in the freezer then dipped them with sticks. I took the sticks out because I didn’t want the sticks in them. The problem was in the dipping they did not stay on the sticks and the chocolate despite hardening did not go on evenly. I may not be the best at things like this, but they are definitely not the easiest dessert to make! They tasted pretty good though.

I’m just poking fun at pinterest posts and how perfect everything always looks which I think is exactly what this site is looking for.
