No Bake Cookies and Cream Bars inspiration

What I Did: Had some Oreos going stale in the pantry, so I decided to make these cookies for Santa! I followed the recipe exactly, but apparently do not posses the magical crafty Pinterest gene to pull it off. It ended up actually breaking my silicone spatula and taking two tries and many trips to the store.

My Result:

Next Time I Will:† Next time, I’ll be sure to grind the Oreos into an impossibly fine powder and whip out my electric paint mixer to spare my otherwise indestructible silicone spatula. Or I’ll just eat stale Oreos.

You are correct this needs to be ground down to a fine powder which could actually kill an inexpensive food processor.

by the comments in the original recipe it looks like you aren’t the only one that had the problem.

I thought maybe you could food process them, put them in a ziplock and use a rolling pin to crush them down smaller either into a powder in the ziplock or put them back in the food processor to finish it off.

Made these on a whim for myself my fiance and a visiting friend. I ended up eating them all myself because I was afraid they would lose teeth. Insanely difficult to eat, dense like depleted uranium, impossible to mix properly, and not even tasty enough to warrant all the work. I’ve been baking complicated and labor intensive recipes for years. This is just a terrible recipe.

Reminds me of Oreos “Christmas Coal” treats

Made these. Rock hard. Evil tooth breakers. They looked pretty though! :)
