A hint for cutting glass bottles. Lightly score the bottle. Make sure you don’t score it too deeply. Pour boiling water directly onto the score while turning the bottle for a few seconds, then run cold tap water over the score. Repeat the alternating water, and if it was scored properly, the bottle should break properly. Of course, different types of glass can affect this. I discovered this technique on Youtube, and it’s the only bottle cutting technique that I’ve been able to consistently replicate.
You need to make a bit more of an effort, for a start. Take the labels off the bottles, get some decent flowers… Looks like a deliberate fail to me.
If you don’t have a blade for cutting glass, you can do this with yarn, acetone nail polish remover, matches, and some cold water.
1) Soak yarn in nail polish remover
2) Wrap around the bottle
3) Light the yarn on fire and rotate the bottle continuously until the flame burns out
4) Dunk into cold water and it will pop off.
It’s really easy
I agree with Brett Winnell’s post above. I, too, have seen that video on Youtube and the guy tries all sorts of different methods to cut glass (including the nail polish remover one - leaves sharp edges). He then shows the results of each method and none of them suffice, except for the score-hot water-cold water method.
