Fail: No Heat Curls

Name: Sandra Yarger

Original Inspiration: http://pinterest.com/pin/41728734017309904/

It looked like a simple and quick cute hairstyle. I figured that there would be no harm in trying it…..

My Result:

Next Time I Will: I twisted the sections of my hair too small and too tight. Also I didn’t realized that they were supposed to be twisted around an elastic head band so I just bobby pinned the twists. Definitely did NOT work, lol!

You did it wrong. My hair is naturally curly and it comes out amazing every time.

I just did this, too! My hair is a curly, frizzy mess! That idea was more like a DiY Afro.

Thank you — I haven’t laughed that hard in years!

My hair is that awful mix of half curly/wavy and half wavy/straight that just does whatever the heck it wants most days. Even with a flat iron and flat iron ‘hair tamer spray’ I still get the bumps in the middle and upturns at the ends. When I want my hair to be curlier or just more uniformly wavy I usually just wash and braid it the night before and sleep in the braid. Feels better than laying on random awkward bumps all over my head and anything else ends up looking just like yours did! Possibly the only other thing I might try some day is the sock bun but as of right now my hair is way too short to attempt that.

Try starting with damp hair, and doing the curls. I have naturally curly hair and I pull it back into a twisty bun when it’s wet and it comes out perfect!
