What I Did: We were making Christmas cookies with friends and my one friend wanted to make Chanukah cookies as well (to be non-denominational). We tried to roll out the dough, but even with extra flour and changing the temperature everything was sticking. It didn’t layer out like it was supposed to and it ended up flat instead of round.

My Result:

Next Time I Will: Maybe not roll the dough so thin, roll it out on wax paper, and transfer over instead of trying to pick it up and move it directly.Pinterest Fail Swirl Cookies storyboard

Personally, I don’t think the Pinterest picture looks real.

The Pinterest version doesn’t look baked, still looks raw.

I made these for Christmas - to be fair, I bake a lot. So, I followed the instructions to a T. The dough needs to chill for at least an hour before rolling it out; and once you roll the two colours into a tube, it needs to chill again. An intensive process, but my cookies came out beautifully.

I actually successfully did these. You definitely needed to make is wayyy thicker and use a really sharp knife. You need a thick dough and have one bowl colored, one bowl of plain. Then you roll out two separate colors, then flour up and carefully place it on the other.
Roll the thing up, use a sharp knife and lots of flour so they don’t stick. You don’t bake them until they are cut out….
I did have problems with the sprinkle part though. That was just messy.
