Pin Reaper: Moonkyst

What I Did: This was probably the first pin that I looked at. I kept meaning to buy a jar but never got around to it. I had a bunch of jar candles that still had a bit of wax in them. I read a tip on the internet about pouring boiling water into the the jar to melt the wax. The wax would float to the top for easy removal. I tried it and it worked. Voila! I had a jar. I painted the jar on the outside. I read on another site that it was easier to get a smooth finish. I think I sprayed on 3 coats.
Walmart is now selling a solar light that is smaller than the original ones I had bought. They fit in the lids without having to take anything apart. I used some Loctite glue to attach the light to the lid.
My Result:
Next Time I Will: I put the jar on some gravel on the ground to spray paint it. I need to find some way to put it up higher so I can get more paint around the lip.
The trick for painting is that you put the jar on a stick to so you can access all sides. Also the 99 cent store here sells solar lights for a .99 they are small and easy to take apart. The ones we purchased are stainless steel or aluminum.
