What I Did: I’m a busy work outside the home mom who loves to craft and can’t wait to share that with my toddler. I hit upon a great craft for busy moms with mess-free fingerpainting, provided by The Hippie Housewife. I think my toddler was just too young to “”get”” this craft, and ended up destroying it instead. We had a good laugh, so I’m glad we did it.

My Result:

What Went Wrong: This would be a great project for an older child. The next person to attempt this craft should use less paint than I did, but otherwise could replicate my steps and successfully execute the project.

I tried this for my niece the other day while the big kids were actually painting. She spent the whole time trying to open the bag to get to the paint. Fail for me too!

What makes them think the kids will stay inside the tape line? you can’t trust kids.

I did this with my 1.5 year old and she loved it! I put just a few squirts of paint in a bag and taped it to her highchair tray. She smeared her fingers on the bag and was amazed that she could move the colors. They started out in different parts of the bag, but were soon an ugly brown color. But she was entertained for about 1/2 an hour, so I called it a success.

We do this every spring and summer, you have to use a LARGE ziploc and a lot less paint. the kids do love it though, we have a white kids table that I tape it to :)

I should also note, we tape the sucker down really well. 2 and 5 years old and they still love this one, we added lotion to our paint to give it the right texture

I’ve done this with my preschool students. Try using pudding instead of paint, If there any tragedies, the kids can eat them up. One bag per kid, of course.

Okay… That link where it says “here” to show her toddler not interested leads to a zillion porn sites!!

Scarred - I was able to remove any links that led to inappropriate sites this morning. I apologize to anyone who clicked before I made the change, I suspect the user had her site hacked (or she let the domain expire and it was bought by someone else).
