What I Did: I thought it would be sweet to make teabag shortbread cookies for my friend for her wedding shower. Her and her fiance love drinking tea together and I was going to write some cute notes about marriage on each of the teabag tags. I mostly followed the directions, except I didn’t have a lot of the necessary equipment and added in chai tea to the recipe to make them chai-spiced cookies. Mostly this is just from me being an inexperienced baker.

Next Time I Will: Almost everything! I would buy a rolling pin, and have a better work space. The dough was sticky and hard to form into shapes. I would chill the dough like the recipe said to do. I also would practice my chocolate dipping technique. I also forgot that I needed a hole in the cookie for the tags until the end…and I had nothing really to make the whole with. Overall it was just too hard a baking project for someone like me with little patience.

If you didn’t tell them they were supposed to be tea bags, they would be nice paisleys! Did they taste good?
Baking is a science not a art form. Decorating is the art form when it comes to baking. We all learn that the hard way. lol
They tasted great!!
The writing on the tag is adorable! My favorite part!
TEA tea? Like loose leaf chai tea? Or instant chai mix? I honestly cannot imagine eating cookies with little bits of tea in them.
I made these for a friend’s tea baby shower. When baking shortbread it’s important to chill the recipe completely before rolling out! And don’t punch the hole before baking. As soon as you take out of the oven use a small icing decorating tip before they cool! It’s a really cute idea!
Not quite the look you were going for but still a very sweet thing to do.
