What I Did: I was having a craving for some comfort food when I remembered we had recently purchased a giant back of mozzarella cheese sticks from Costco, and that I had pinned a really simple recipe for baked mozzarella sticks a few weeks earlier.
It started out really well. I snipped the cheese sticks in half, dipped them in milk, then rolled them in a bread crumb mix I made with plain bread crumbs, garlic salt, basil, and oregano. It smelled really good and I thought they was going to turn out to be delicious.
I followed the directions and baked them at 425f for 10 minutes. When I opened the oven, I saw that the coating hadn’t helped them hold their shapes at all and they were now one flat, ugly breaded cheese-sheet. They did taste good, though.
Next Time I Will: The only thing I can think of that I may have done wrong was use fat-free milk to roll the cheese in, since it’s thinner than whole milk and may not have worked as well to keep the coating together. Other than that, I followed the instructions completely.

Your directions must have been wrong. The milk shouldn’t make a difference. Try rolling in flour first before the milk and freeze them for a few hours before popping them in the oven. Should only take about 8mins to cook.
The instructions clearly say to freeze them first, which you didn’t do.
Hahahahahahaha. CHEESE MELTS WHEN IT GETS HOT. Freeze them. Duh and or HELLLO.
I’ve done these before and they turned out perfectly. You must freeze them first. That’s the trick.
Deep-frying them may also do the trick. But of course baking them in the oven will be the healthier option.
Definitely freeze them first.
Also, the mozz sticks in “finished” pic from the original pin are clearly deep fried. You’ll never get that golden brown color from an oven.
I’ve done this before without freezing them. Coat them twice in flour, beaten egg, and panko. They were perfect and tasted great.
