What I Did: The cake looked too good not to try! I had a party to go to, so thought it was the perfect opportunity. I followed the recipe exactly.

My Result:

pinterest fail chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and chocolate ganache

Next Time I Will: The cake wasn’t as sturdy as it needed to be and, apparently, the ganache never really thickened enough. It all ran off, into the cake box. When I tried to move the cake out of the ganache lake, it all fell apart! Tasted awesome though and will definitely try it again!!

Looks like an awesome “eat with your hands” cake to me. Win!

Funny. I made this cake and it worked out fine…obviously not as pretty as the pictures but it looked pretty good and tasted great.

When I make this, I pop the cake into the freezer for a bit after pouring the ganache to help the ganache solidify. I also make sure the cake is on a large enough plate to catch any run-off from the ganache. Good luck with your next attempt :)

This is a great recipe and explanation for enrobing a frosted cake and i know cuz this was my first attempt at this assignment and this is my photo…..mauigirl/Julie M. Yummy rich cake too. Thought I do admire that cake of yours too…..YUM I would just eat it out of a spoon with lots of additional whipped cream mmmmm.
