What I Did: I thought this would be an easy delicious meal for myself & my boyfriend after a “Sunday funday.” It was a hot summer day in my apartment & maybe a little too humid. The dough immediately became difficult to deal with and I had a tough time sealing the edges because of the red sauce. The end product was ugly but delicious.
My Result:
Next Time I Will: Next time I will attempt to cook these when it is not already 90 degrees out.
I have made other recipes with Crescent rolls, but have never tried to make individual servings. The simplest way is to put the full tube of dough on a cookie sheet. Then, push the perforated lines together to make one solid sheet. Use your fingers to do this, not a rolling pin. Then, put whatever ingredients you want on top. Leave about one inch all the way around. Unroll a second tub of Crescent rolls on top, mush the perforated lines together, and seal the edges.
Bake according to the directions on the Crescent roll tube. Obviously, with this method you should not use any kind of raw meat. Pizza, ham and cheese, turkey and havarti - the sky is the limit! Cut and serve. It’s like a giant Hot Pocket!
I’ve made these before too! The simplest way I’ve found is to really center the ingredients and leave a big buffer along the edges. I’ve made pizza, spanakopita, and a few desserts this way with little to no issues.
I make these all the time, so much cheaper than hot pockets and much tastier
I’ve made crescent roll-ups before and they work really well. What worked for me is breaking apart the crescents into individual sizes. Then cut string mozz cheese in half, and prepare pepperonis (i’ve found 4-5 per crescent works well). put the mozz and pepperoni on the large of the crescent and roll per usual then fold the corners up. They may come detached while baking but it’ll be ok. Then bake for 6-9 minutes depending on oven but basically when the crescent looks done, it will be done. Then have some marinara to dip them in. Super easy and super good!
I wonder if you could make a funnel of the pizza sauce in a ziplock bag and after you pinch the sides together inject it like a doughnut
