What I Did: Followed this to a “T”!!
Spent about 4 hours to make what my children called “Easter Eggs” — Uhhm, not so much! They were supposed to be Candy Corn Cookies!!!! I ended up taking the cookies out just a tad bit earlier and cutting them in to the shape of a Candy Corn Triangle. But this was definitely a Pinterest FAIL.
My Result:

There is no way this was followed to a T. The blog makes tiny bite sized cookies. Unless this person was using Barbie’s dream oven to make these, this was User Error, not Pintrest fail
If you want sugar cookies to preserve their shape while baking, you need to ensure the dough is chilled. Usually it will warm up too much while you are shaping it, so most experienced bakers will pop the whole cookie sheet in the refrigerator for 15-20 after putting the cookies on it, then put it in the oven.
I agree, NO WAY the instructions were followed!! I made these and they turned out PERFECT! Everyone loved them so much I’ve adapted them for other holidays with different shapes, colors, and flavorings. My oldest son (23) begs me to make them for him since he no longer lives at home and gets “Momma’s cooking!”
