What I Did: In the oven, the chocolate burned and became all crumbly and just fell apart entirely.
Next Time I Will: not put them in for nearly half an hour.
Yeah, these only take about 5-7 minutes in the oven. Just until the chocolate turns shiny.
You need to heat them until they look wet. You can overtemper chocolate. My suggestion, use rolo’s instead.
Oh yes! I’ve had ones made with Rolos (with a pecan half instead of an m&m) and they were amazing!
They probably only needed to be in the oven for 4-5 minutes tops. This is a user fail not a pin fail. I have done these a ton of times and they always come out great…and fast and easy. FYI…Rolos are better to work with.
It even said only 3 minutes in the directions…failure to follow.
Considering that the DIRECTIONS say to put them in for THREE minutes and not 30… I’d say someone has to learn how to follow instructions.
This usually happens with Hershey’s Kisses because they are poor quality chocolate. Their success depends on marketing, for sure not quality.
I agree that they should be heated a shorter time or at a lower temperature, but they may still crack.
Oh, and here’s a tip: Always make three or four of something first, not the whole batch. Adjust the instructions according to how those came out.
Half an hour? I’m assuming yo got distracted?
This person has already admitted they failed to follow directions; I don’t think it’s appropriate to add condescending and snarky remarks regarding this.
