What I Did: It was supposed to be a beautiful glittery jar that looked like the Galaxy. Instead we got something that looks like it’s from a doctors office in a horror movie.

My Result:

Next Time I Will: I honestly don’t know if this project is salvageable. Perhaps less water and more paint could make it work, but I have my doubts.

Your vessel seems a little large for what they were trying to achieve. For a qt mason (sorry if yours is smaller, its hard to tell) I’d probably use half of each paint tube and maybe a little white glue as a “whitening” base for the paint to show up against.

    Zombie brains jar?

It is possible to do. The 250ml mason jar was the perfect size for us. The cotton balls have to be pretty firmly packed I think.

That doesn’t look like acrylic paint in the background.

What i don’t like about this blog is that they almost never follow the instructions exactly. I did this same project and mine turned out good. I believe they shouldn’t try altering the instructions at all an actually follow it. If they followed it correctly but it still messed up then i believe they should post it.

I’m with Ana. As with most of these projects (I’ve tried a few…) you HAVE to follow the instructions and use the sizes required to the “T”! No substituting, no skimping … use what the directions call for.
