What I Did: We were having a Scottish Country Dance ball, and I wanted to make cookies that look like our dancing shoes, which are called “ghillies”. The Irish use them too. I was excited to see this beautiful rendition and thought it would be simple to replicate. I bought the cookie cutter off of an Etsy site and it was perfect. My cookies were not š , and my kitchen was a mess with black frosting!
Next Time I Will: make them another color. Black turned out to be a little unappetizing and stained oneās mouth, tongue, fingers, etc. Also, I will get a better icing decorator!

Maybe instead of using icing, for the black part, use melted dark chocolate? Itāll add more flavor AND it wonāt stain oneās mouth.
Or you can buy ‘writing icingā. it comes in little squeeze tubes with a small nozzle, you use it like a pen. It comes in a glittery black…
Yours are not bad at all! I agree with Amy…little squeeze tubes/small nozzels that will give you more control and allow your lines to be more precise.
what many people fail to realize is that most of these pin pics are professionals (or they tried and tried and tried til they got it perfect before taking pix and posting) i think your slippers look great!
