What I Did: “It looked good! How can you mess up something so simple…right? Leave it to me. I used ground turkey instead of beef (save a cow…screw turkeys I guess?) I think the problem was the noodles. I used no boil lasagna noodles and I gather from the gooey mess in my crockpot that was a no no. I followed all the directions, cook on low 4-6 hours blah blah. Mine cooked for 5 and it burned on the bottom. Boo! My spirit is not broken however, I will pin again!”

Next Time I Will:† Use regular noodles! I think the project could be saved by a different cook 😉

It is supposed to be the regular noodles. It really bugs me that it was not specified in the recipe. When I tried it, using the regular noodles, I was in a panic because I thought I would end up with not-cooked noodles and lots of tears, but it came out beautifully.

I have seen the recipe with both, but I used the no boil jawns for regular lasagna before and ended up in tears..so I stay far far away from those. They really are like the worst product ever and should be banned!
Try this again with the regular noodles, we love this recipe so easy and I use ground turkey too. you def want to make sure you brown the meat first and then throw all ingredients in 🙂

I first tried this when my nephew’s grandmother made this. It was so good. I recently tried to make this myself. It came out okay… a little bland to my taste. My husband liked it after he spiced it up a bit. It didn’t last two days…. I want to try making crock pot meatloaf or beef stroganoff next.

I make this all the time with Jimmy Dean ready sausage and no boil noodles. It doesn’t come out beautiful but it looks edible and is drop dead delicious. I mix the meat with the sauce and then start with a sauce level then noodle, ricotta (with a egg mixed in), mozzarella cheese and then repeat. I never put the noodle on top because it doesn’t cook through. Please try it again, huge timesaver and my family loves it.
