What I Did: I attempted to make the kids candy corn sugar cookies. Clearly, something went very wrong!
My Result:
Next Time I Will: Next year we will stick to the actual candy!!
I tried to do the candy cane version of these at Christmas time… I got lumps of colors as well. I’m not sure how these are supposed to work but you aren’t the only one who couldn’t figure it out.
I find that using a tried and true Sugar cookie recipe that is more a roll out and cut type helps when you want to separate colors. I use a recipe handed down by an ancestor. The cookies keep their shape, but they are soft and cake like rather than the hard cookies turned out by mixes and pre-made cookie dough. It also helps to use gel color rather than liquid color. Happy baking!
Betty Crocker lied!! I tried that same mix, followed the directions to the letter, and got the exact same results. It wasn’t you! Lol!!!
