What I Did: I tried to use real leaves like the blog suggested but I could not get them to stick. I thought this idea would be great for Thanksgiving this year, I am hosting. It looked easy, so I pinned it.

My Result:

Next Time I Will: use real leaves without prominent stems in them. Don’t try and use glue mixed with water rather than Mod Podge.

“These Autumn leaves aren’t real, but try using real leaves too. I find that faux leaves work better because the decoupage medium soaks through the fabric leaf, allowing for easier application. I purchased the pack of fake leaves from the dollar store as well.”

Use the cheap fake fabric ones they will work. I’ve done this one. Only a couple, and at the bottom only.

Do CLEAN the jar, and then wipe the outside with isopropyl alcohol just before you adhere the leaves. Use Mod-podge rather than glue and DO NOT DILUTE. Soak the leaf in it and then press to the jar’s side, smoothing out any bubbles.

I am literally doing this project right now. It has been extremely hard which made me go to the pintrest fails website. Glad to see I’m not the only one failing at this. Using mod podge didn’t make it any better.
