    Did you use the 8 inch baking pan as specified in the directions? If your pan was bigger than specified and you used the same amount of baking time it perhaps could have made the more thinly spread batter cook quicker and result in a cookie texture rather than a moist brownie.

    I’ve made these successfully, much to the joy of the family sweet tooth. You don’t want to go any bigger than a 9×9 square pan without doubling the recipe. You also don’t want to cook the brownies for too long, or they’ll get too hard. Also, using a silicone brush or a spatula to spread the glaze will make it stretch farther, you shouldn’t just pour it on.
