What I Did: I was asked to make a cake for my mom and brother’s birthday. They requested a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. I stumbled across this picture of this beautiful cake and it gave me a great idea to top the cake with ganache. Now, I made the recipe from this site. Both the cake and frosting came out great ( I did have to double the frosting recipe though). The ganache recipe I uses from the All Day I DDream About Food using regular confectioners sugar. That tasted good too.
Next Time I Will: I learned a couple things here ( I had to make 2 cakes). After the first round, I now know to oil AND flour the cake pans before baking. And after the second round, I know now to wait for the cake to completely cool before frosting to prevent sliding
