I made this exact recipe (flour, egg, breadcrumbs, freeze then cook for 7-8mins) and mine turned out perfect. Not sure what you did wrong

    1. Colleen says:

It looks like the poster tried baking these instead of frying them as directed. Directions-reading fail again.

      1. Mandy says:

I baked mine at 350 7-8mins, no issues

I think this is a great example of a Pinterest Fail where the person thought they had what they needed solely from *looking at Pinterest* and then realized it wasn’t what they thought.

Maybe I just am not meant to “get” this site, because I can’t imagine trying to do something without reading the directions first and following them. Whenever I have found a craft or recipe on Pinterest, I have gone on to the original source and used those directions; I would never just use the picture as it appeared on pinterest.com. But I guess that is just me.

            1. Mandy says:

Ya im thinking they just followed the picture and skipped the flour/egg wash/freezing part

Yeah, even the instructions in the actual pin are a lie. I first Pioneer Woman’s recipe though.

                  Trust. I trust. Stupid phone!

                  1. Libster says:

The original pinterest does say bake them. It looks like the heat was too high. It only needs to bake the outside and the inside to be goey but not melted all the way through.

My suggestion would be to do a test run with just one stick, since ovens vary.

                    1. Kat says:

Yeah, these were just cooked too long. This will happen even with Friday’s Brand Frozen Mozz. Sticks. Next time, follow the directions and watch them carefully!

                      1. Patty says:

Haha! I would eat them anyway.

I thought it was chicken. Lol

Hey, peel back that foil and enjoy what we call ‘cheese jerky’ around my house. On any cheese baked goodies that crispy cooked cheese is prime eating.

@OhSue – Yes! Crispy cooked cheese is one of my favorite foods.

I had the same damn thing happen to me…don’t feel bad

We tried these at a play date. Followed the directions and had the same flat melted cheese coin results. They were super salty, which was probably the brand of cheese as we didn’t add to the breading and in general a mess. The kids ate them but the moms… well, we won’t be making them at the next date :-)

                                  1. Erin Kimberly says:

Freeze the cheese sticks before baking…that’s a key step!
