What I Did: I decided to make a “Shark Cake” for my Mom’s birthday. Her main hobby is Shark Fishing on the coast where we live. I found this awesome shark cake on pinterest, and said, “Easy Enough, I can do that!”
Mixing the icing with food coloring to create my own colors of icing sounded easy, My grey turned into seafoam of the actual shark
Trying to shape the cake into an actual shark didn’t quite… work out. So I raided my pantry and found rice crispy treats and molded them into a shark, I then iced with my gorgeous seafoom/snot colored icing.
The Teeth! By this point I just had to start laughing and have fun with it as it was a complete disaster. The more teeth the better, the more crooked the teeth were, perfect.
My “Happy Birthday” writing slid on the brown “sand” and looks like “Happy BrithVdap”.
There are many more details, but I would say this was an overall major fail, and I have SO much respect for those who actually can bake!
Next Time I Will: I wouldn’t change a thing about this cake. My mom loved my attempt, and it has been a great conversational piece and has gotten a lot of laughs from many different people. Totally worth the Fail
