What I Did: I really can’t tell you what happened other than the fact that I tried to make whatever the heck was on the pinterest page for my Autumn party and then when I put it together it started to crumble so I thought if I ignored it and added the frosting it might magically fix itself. But then it didn’t. So I cried.

Hold it, now that I think about it…I did not bother to look at the recipe. I had my own recipe for pumpkin cake so that’s probably why it didn’t hold…on top of the fact that the bundt mold makes my cakes “bumpy” on the bottom.

My Result:

pinterest fail pumpkin cake bundt pan

Next Time I Will:  I saved it from molding by eating it right away. It was delicious.

What would I do differently? Buy two plain bundt cakes and put them on top of each other.

I had a wonderful laugh on this one. Did that bottle behind the cake have anything to do with the outcome of the cake? Your cake made my morning. Thanks for sharing!

Oh yeah, next time shave the roundness from the cake then turn is over for a flat bottom

Hi Regina! Surprisingly, I was sober…which says a lot. Thanks for the tip, although I think I’ll stick to the eating of someone else’s creation!

I made this cake before pinterest LOL The trick is to shave the tops like you would a regular layered cake….

Also? If you get really desperate, they make a 3D pumpkin pan. Level it, add frosting, and hey presto! Pumpkin cake! Thanks for submitting this! It’s hilarious!

I’ve made this before and it came out really cute! Another tip is to tap the pan against a counter before baking it..it will remove alot of the bubbles and make it denser. then, as said in other comments, let it cool and shave off the bumpy top. i also had to use sticks in the middle to keep it from sliding apart. I bet it was yummy though!

Well… You probably should have cut off the tops of the bundt cakes to b flat….

                      lol what??

yeah the uneven-ness can be fixed by just using a knife to shave off the top so that it’s flat. put one flat end on the other and then the pumpkin is even

not sure why you went for making the frosting green. the orange is kind of what makes it look…pumpkin like haha

I agree, always shave the tops when layering cakes, some even use plain dental floss, NO FLAVORED ones
Tha’ts what I did when making birthday and wedding cakes

I think part of the problem is the bundt cakes should be bottom to bottom-yours are top to top. May have helped with stability. I love your bottle in the background-best part of this fail!! Thanks for sharing :)
