Win: Jello Shot Orange Slices

A previous attempt at Jello Oranges

What I Did: Decided to make jello shots for a big party on our boat called aquapalooza. Lots of boats all tied up together in the same cove. I thought these would be perfect for that setting, biodegradable “cups’, no clean up, no trash.

I ended up buying 30 oranges and making about 200 of these little guys. Worked perfectly! followed the instructions exactly, scooped out the oranges, pour jello shots in, let solidify, and slice. It was extra work but I will definitely be making these again in the future.

My Result:

Next Time I Will:ย  Nothing, worked great!

I think you’re missing the point of this site. You did a good job. Yours came out perfect. We want to see royal F-ups. You know … so we can laugh at you and point fingers at someone other than ourselves for a change. Now stop being such a perfect priss and go screw something up! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Susan

I love seeing the WINS on here! I don’t think it’s just for fails!

  3. Randy

I have to respectfully disagree with you Susan. The name of the site is Penterest Fail – Where Good Intentions Come To Die. If someone wants to show that they actually nailed it, then they can post it on Facebook or even Penterest itself, but not here. This site is for failures. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think it is okay as long as the ration is twenty “Fails” for every “Nailed”. Does that sound about right?

  5. Bobbie McCormack

    I mean “ratio”…..

  6. Susan

I agree Bobbie – I think the majority should be fails that we can laugh our heads off at, but it’s nice to see some wins… and that there is somethings out there that just maaaayybeee we can do.

I COME TO THIS SITE TO HAVE A LAUGH AT THE FAILS AND SEE IF I COULD DO ANY WORSE

    I USUALLY COULD!

I agree, after reading plenty of fails it’s refreshing to see a win. It takes off the frustration of reading about so much stupidity, and also shows people that the pins are possible and how to get a win.

You could even go a step further and juice the orange pulp you scooped out of the oranges, combine that with unflavored gelatin and the booze of your choice (cointreau? grand marnier?), and make orange slice shots that taste orangey, without wasting the insides of the fruits . . . OK now I want to do that.

I’ve seen this one fail a lot from people not following directions. So I was really impressed to see a win because it is something that I want to try, but have been too scared to!

Perhaps we could see this as a study in contrast. The sweet, sweet fails begin to lose their value if we have nothing to compare them to. One win per 20 or so, and we are reminded just how unique and precious each and every one of our fails can be.

I like seeing a “win” like this because it reinforces that a lot of the “fails” are from people not being patient or not following directions.

Oh i’m so glad to see this “win”! we have been talking about making these (and lemons, too) for a while but none of us were sure it’d work. thanks!
