Fail: Encourage Moss Growth with Yogurt

Name: Lhmooney

Original Inspiration:

What I Did: I thought it would add some old world charm to my container herb garden to age terra cotta pots with a moss patina. The instructions seemed easy enough to mix yogurt and moss harvested from the backyard in a blender. I only had Peach yogurt on hand instead of plain yogurt but I was anxious to get this project started since it requires 14 days to complete. I guess they were serious when they said to use plain yogurt.

My Result:

pinterest fail grow moss with yougrt outside garden

Next Time I Will: Next time I would use plain yogurt instead of flavored yogurt.

Well…it’s certainly a type of moss. ^.^ Not the kind you expected, but if the project truly did fulfill its promises, can you say that it failed?

Mold is a fungus. Moss is a member of a group containing primitive plants called Bryophytes.
